In this 36 second advert there is a lot of different shots of people skating and riding there bikes doing tricks and jumps, which were taken from cool angles. The story to the advert is a guy take a red bull can at the beginning and then they all start to skate and then do some tricks. So basically red bull gives them the energy to do that.
I felt that the bit at the beginning of the ad where the music and the guy on the bmx went together well, that was all down to the editor and i felt that he done well. I guess what pleased me the most about making the advert is that everyone had there own job, I was the camera man so all the shots in the video were taken by me, and Christian was the editor, so all the cool effects and transitions was done by him. We would still give eachother help and advice. I think I'm most pleased about the shots that we took because it was the last day of recording for our advert and we had to go all the way to brixton skate park and we managed to get all these great shots on the last day.
There are a lot of similarities and differences between our advert and a professional advert, becuase it was a Red Bull advert we tried our best to keep it original. As we all know Red Bull is known for all its extreme sports and stunts like snowboarding, skating, mountain biking etc.. so we tried to do the same by doing some skateboarding and bmx stuff. I guess what makes a professional advert is the BUDGET! Professional adverts have all these great locations, professional stunts men and the best recording and editing equipment which costs a lot of money which I don't have.
In the advert we tried to make it look athletic, dangerous ( with all the tricks and stunts ), almost daring and something you would only do if you drank red bull. The lifestyle of an athlete who has no limits. Which is what Red Bull is all about. Whether or not this advert would be successful at selling the product(red bull) im not do sure, the main target audience for our advert is young energetic boys and girls who are adventurous and not afraid to do something extreme and dangerous. So I feel that the advert would sell to those kind of people.
All of the feedback that I got from my classmates was very good. they all seemed to enjoy the advert and thought that it was pretty good. All of the comments were different but what they all had in common is they liked that all of the creative shots like the one taken from the ground and the skater jumps over the camera. They also said that they liked how the audio and the footage went well together.
Some problems that we experienced while making our advert is that the weather was too cold and there was a lot of rain and that effected our footage because the skatepark was too wet and we had to wait for it to dry up, so some sun would of made it faster and made the shots a little brighter. There was indeed an absent team member but it didn't really matter as we felt we didn't need a third person anyways.
If I could change anything about our advert I would remove the red effect in the middle of the video, it was unnecessary and made the advert look a little cheap and unprofessional. I would like to improve in my editing skills over the xmas holidays so I can come back and make an even better video with no silly mistakes.

Memorable Ad
This TV advert is about a mouse that finds some cheese on a mousetrap, while eating the cheese the mousetrap triggers and kills it, or does it? The music starts playing for about 10-15 seconds and the mouse isn't moving at all and there is no sign of life. The music playing keeps on saying "this is the end" giving you the feeling that the mouse is dead, but then the music changes and the mouse starts to lift the little metal bar up and down to the beat. He is now back to life because he ate the cheddar cheese, Nolan's Cheddar.. Seriously strong!
View three different contemporary TV adverts and list three key characteristics of them
1) Repetition
2) Persuasion
3) Less than a minute long

What is TV advertising?
Television advertisement or TV commercial is called commercial or TV ad in US, advert in UK and TVC by industry insiders. It is about relaying a specific social, political or sales pitch in a limited amount of time, broadly ranging in between few seconds to several minutes. More expensive than other form of promotion, it is produced and paid for by the organizations called advertiser or marketer and streamed from a television network. The purpose is to generate demand for a product, service, idea or cause. Advertising regulations define the laws and rules under which a product can be advertised.

My Shooting Script
For the first shot i choose i nice location on the second floor with a beautiful background full of trees.
For the second shot I am in a park and the camera is shot at a low angle showing my lower body only, i felt it was a good decision as i was doing kick ups and wanted to focus on that only.
For the third shot I had to get some footage off youtube of Zidane's goal in the champions league final in 2002, therefore i wasn't in this shot.
For the forth shot I put the camera on the ground and got a good shot of me and the ball from far away, I then kicked the ball at the camera and made it fall to the ground facing the sky. I felt this was a very good shot for a near closing scene.
For the last shot i am back where i started off on the second floor giving a little goodbye speech to end the video.

Review Report - Task 6
The past 5 weeks at college i have learnt a lot about the course, I believe that as of right now i have completed every task successfully, some on time and some a little late.
The teachers have taught me how to use and create a mind map on the website Prezi, they have also taught me how to create a blog and post me work on it, I also learnt how to record with a camera using the 5 shot rule and much more.
For the first week the teachers helped us create our own blogs on blogger. I had to design it and post my first blog which was very simple and easy to do. I had to evaluate a advert video, in my case i chose the english language advert of the german guy.
For the second week we had to write a script for our video profiles and plan out the whole video and chose what shots and locations we were going to use. I chose to talk about a football legend called Zidane. That week we also learned how to use the 5 shot sequence which was Hands, Face, Wide Shot, Over the shoulder and last was a creative shot of our own choice.
For the third week I had to go out and record all the footage for my video profile, we had to do this in pairs so me and Tom decided to help eachother out. Since I had to record Tom's footage I felt that this was the time that I had to show off my skills and I honestly think i done well as he was very satisfied with the results.
All footage was recorded around the college premises as we wern't aloud to take them home so therefore i had to use my iphone4 later on which i was very suprised by the amazing quality.
For the fourth week we had to edit all the footage we had recorded and put them into one whole sequence, I done this by using the editing software Final Cut which the teacher helped us with a lot as we hadn't had any experience using it. At first it was difficult but then i got the hang of it. I learnt how to add music, cut clips and much more. By the end of that week i had finished by video profie and was very happy with the results.
For the fifth week we had to post our video profiles on our blogs and get atleast 5 people to comment on them and leave some feedback. I had gotten 6 comments and they were all very informative as they pointed out the good and bad bits and told me how i could have done better to improve which was very helpful.
I also had to write an evaluation for my video profile by using all the feedback i got from my classmates.
Overall i'd say it was a very successful 5 weeks and i feel that i have learnt a lot and can not wait to come back after halfterm to work on some more projects !

My Video Profile Evaluation
Video Profile Evaluation – Task 4
Everyone seemed to have enjoyed my video profile on Zinedine Zidane, there were both positive and negative feedback but I’d say overall I did a pretty good job.
Most of the people said that it was very informative and they liked how I talked about his whole career from very start when he signed for Cannes till the very end when he head butted Marco Materazzi.
They also felt that the music choice was really good as it made them feel quite emotional and therefore made the story telling much more interesting.
Someone also mentioned that they thought that the camera shots and angles were very creative. Such as the slow motion clip of me doing kick ups.
I am most proud of the scene of me shooting the ball at the camera and making it fall to the ground facing the sky. One reason why is because it took a lot of attempts to get it right and therefore it was very time consuming and a lot of work, but you know what they say ‘hard work always pays off’. Second reason is that while I commentate over the clip I end the clip as soon as the ball hits the camera and everything starts to get serious because Zidane’s career is coming to an end giving the audience a different feeling.
As much as I appreciate all the nice and positive feedback there were also a couple of negative comments that I felt were true and I could have done better.
For example, Ilia said that although he felt it was a really great video of Zidanes career he thought that I should have related it to myself in a way and I absolutely agree. I guess I was focused on getting as much as information as possible to talk about Zidanes career that I actually forgot to talk about myself and mention my interests and hobbies etc…
There is a lot of room for improvement, first of all I think that my video profile was a little too long and I would like to shorten it from 4 minutes 16 seconds to at least 2-3 minutes.
Second, I would of liked to be involved in my video profile and talk about myself a little more.
I could make it more professional by getting a better quality camera and microphone.
Commercially produced videos have a higher budget and therefore can afford to get better equipment, which is usually expensive. They also get professional actors and get to go to better locations which also costs money.

Learn English
This advert was made by the company Berlitz, who are a language school to help people improve thier english. It was released in 2006 and since then it has generated over a couple of million hits on youtube. The Berlitz Language School hoped to raise its company profile by releasing a series of humorous yet simple ads to the Internet. Their efforts generated an international windfall of attention that has helped to place the often-controversial school as a leading second-language learning institution.
The video is based at the 'German Coast Guard', their is a new guy who seems to be at his first day of work and his boss is giving him a little tour around the office showing him all of the gadgets etc...
Later on he gets a call from someone who seems to be in a lot of trouble as he is shouting out, "mayday ! mayday" and " we are sinking! ". The german guy seems to be a little less intelligent for the job as he replies back "what are you thinking about! " xD
I'd say the target audience for this video could be any gender, age, background, etc... as this video is for people who want to learn or improve their english language.
The video was released on Youtube in 2006 and has generated millions of views and has been uploaded several times from different users. Till this day it is still being shared around on the web on social networking websites like FaceBook, Myspace and many more..
The purpose of the video was to get the companys name a little more recognision, so people who wanted to learn and/or improve their english could go to Berlitz English Language School.
The advert is over 6 years old and therefore the both the sound and image quality isn't best. Also there isn't any subtitles to translate the german, when he speaks to his boss.
Overall it was a hilarious advert that made me laugh and I could watch it over and over again despite the bad quality.
